I got a shiny new toy last week -- a Nikon D40 -- and wow, do I NOT know how to use a DSLR. So, as I wander around the city, I'm learning.
The above photo is a chopped pork sandwich at the Big Apple BBQ Festival, courtesy of Ed Mitchell of The Pit restaurant in Raleigh, N.C. Pit masters from around the country descend on New York every June to show NYers that the stuff they call "barbecue" is no such thing.
Anyway, this was one of the few decent photos I got from an entire weekend of chowing down and seeing bands at the Northside Festival in Williamsburg. Taking dimly lit concert photos is not in my bag of tricks ... yet.
